Brent Hughes has been appointed vice president of operations for builder C.W. Driver Cos. The company has offices in Irvine and Anaheim and is based in Pasadena. Hughes will oversee projects in the retail, commercial, office, hospitality and gaming, mixed-use and entertainment industries in addition to spearheading signature projects across California. He has more than 20 years of construction experience.

John Stanaland has joined Newport Beach-based Villa Real Estate. Stanaland, whose real estate sales total several billions of dollars, will be based in Villa’s Laguna Beach office. A Laguna Beach native, Stanaland is the fifth generation of real estate professionals in his family.

Lou Penrose has ended his tenure as executive director for the Apartment Association of Orange County. Penrose now will lead Lou Penrose Government Relations, a Southern California-based government relations and public affairs firm specializing in federal, state, and local government relations and issue advocacy.

Dan Sheridan is a new partner at Hoffman Strategy Group, a national commercial real estate advisory firm. He is based in the company’s Newport Beach office. Sheridan comes to Hoffman Strategy Group with more than 20 years of retail real estate experience including his time as chief operating officer of Centennial Real Estate, president of the retail properties division for The Irvine Company and executive vice president of asset management with General Growth Properties.

Shelly Beck has joined the Mission Viejo office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as an affiliate agent. Previously she worked for Rich Uncles where she helped investors buy commercial properties.
